An educational Panel Discussion followed by Experiental Sound.
Sound has been sused in conjunction with plant medicine through the ages. In this tall you'll get to hear from experts about the way plants and plant compunds work in the body. Participants may learn some of the science evidence on sound and natural medicine and get some tips on how to consciously utilize these beneficial therapies.

At this roundtable educational event we will discuss plant medicine and how they coupled with therapeutic sound in today’s climate as well as ancient times. We will talk about the science of sound and how vibration buoys our experience. Our experts will present some scientific and experiential data on these methods, with insight on plant compounts their therapeutic actions, effects and precautions . We will discuss how to create and foster your own personal techniques for creating deeper interactions with yourself and your environment through these complimantary practices.

A sound artist and multi-instrumentalist based in the Hudson Valley and Brooklyn, NY .
Originally a classically-trained and jazz flutist, Katie's music intersects the realms of sound art, free improvisation, Americana, Jazz, and world music. With NewBorn Trio, she performs on homemade instruments including glass percussion and steel cello and she plays ukulele and sings with the infamous band, The Ukuladies! and the experimental Sephardic ensemble, Sofie Salonika. Katie is a composer and sound designer as well and has created numerous sound scores for theatre, dance, and independent films including the critically-acclaimed Salt in the Air, a documentary on a Ukrainian salt-mine with healing elements on the brink of collapse. Her sound designs for theatre and dance have garnered her Drama Desk nominations and the award for best sound design from The Connecticut Critic's Circle. She is the recipient of several grants, residencies, and commissions including the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, The Jerome Foundation, BAM, Watermill, Chashama, Music Omi, and Meet the Composer. A member of the music faculty at SUNY New Paltz and is a licensed creative arts therapist. Her private practice,
